I’ve been working on two new cabinet packs to commemorate the 1000th download of AGE of Joy, which is quite impressive given that it’s a new game aimed at a specific audience.

One of the assets packs will be dedicated to Metal Slug, a game that fans have requested. Metal slug is something special, not only by its quality but also by its platform: the Neo Geo.

Neo Geo was a ROM cartridge-based arcade system board AND a home console game platform at the same time. In arcade galleries the same cabinet can hold more than a game, that was a big space saving for gallery owners.

However, in the VR Gallery, space is not an issue, so each game will have its own cabinet. They are all the same, but are distinguished by the Marquee, which was also used in the galleries.

You will need to upgrade to a new version, the 0.2.0 of Age of Joy. It hasn’t been published yet, but stay tuned because I hope to have that version available by the next weekend.

Starting with version 0.2.0, cabinet models can be distributed in asset packs, allowing you to upload new cabinets without having to upgrade the game.
